As to the argument of need and want, do we really NEED to own a sword? Do we really NEED to own a car? (After all, deaths caused from car crashes are far greater than deaths caused by shootings, but I digress).

If we banned something based on its negative effects, then everything would be banned.

People in glass houses...

In regards to the original topic (British govt to ban samurai swords). The Government has now changed and we don't know which stance it's going to take.
